Some people say Kovalev and Jackson don't get along maybe there's some truth to that.
It definitely was NOT a good look for JDJ to say that Kovalev needs to be in better shape!

Well he admitted Ward's body work was effective at least.

You have to look at why he gassed out late in the fight. It was from the wrestling, the body shots and the missed punches. He needs to work on shortening his shots on the inside so he can continue to score when Ward gets on him.

JDJ barely even talked in the corner. Kovalev shut him up after round 1.. Sanchez was right about Kov being a hardhead and Hunter called out the disarray in that camp at the press conference. after Kov landed that right hand in round 2 his right hand disappeared from the fight, Ward took it away. the punch Ward couldn't figure out was Kovalevs jab, if he finds a way around that expect Kovalev to not only get schooled but punished.

JDJ is smoking something if he had the last six rounds 3-3.

If he wasnt in shape for Ward then shame on him and his team. He deserved to lose if thats the case

So wait, they wanted the KO? And the reason he didn't get it was because he was not in the best shape he can get? Because Kovalev said differently in the post fight saying thst he didn't go for the KO because he wanted to outbox Ward

Lol Jeeeeez!! How could he not been in the best shape of his career for the one fight that would have solidified his greatness???And how much more of a flush punch could had he landed especially off of a slip two??He just isnt as good as SOG.

I've only read through the first page so far and most seem to share my viewpoint. John David Jackson is talking as if Kovalev could be better conditioned than he was. Why wasn't he in peak conditioner for the first fight to begin with?

That being said. Kovalev took a lot of body shots, but the real problem is him trying so hard to prove he could out wrestle Ward, which really drained him.

if shouldn't even be used, especially if you are the head trainer

JDJ is in over his head and kov would rather listen to the Russian guy anyway

Dre is intimidated by him like other opponents....his mystique, aura of krusher took a hit....also later on in the fight, Ward took his best weapons away....only idiot would say "he just got tired doe"

he was just fine, mental fatigue and frustration, nerves affect your stamina as well as getting hit

you can train a body to be in better condition, you can make someone mentally strong....Kov is mentally strong, but Ward refuses to lose...there is a difference

no ko for kov, then its another loss like I said before the first fight.
