How Far will Mayweather Promotions go?

it wont take him as far imo, he ain't a risk taker, leaving 50 alone says a lot about him when it comes to independent business. he wanted none of it because it will be just him and 50 doing the job and he himself didn't believe it would have worked out, he wants to maintain his relationships with the haymons and the Golden Boy. No one can blame him though.They are needing him now, what happens if they won't already???

50 don`t even have any experience in promoting boxing plus Floyd would have had to give him 50% of his earning had he went into business with 50.Only an idiot would go into a promotional business with a somebody who have no experience in the boxing promotional world,who you have to give 50% of your earning to and on top of that-a guy who go around burning bridges with powerful people in boxing.



And BTW when is Dirrel next fight?After Dirrel signed with 50 cent Dirrel said he was gonna fight on December 15th,then when that did`nt happen,he said he was fighting on January 19th,Now he`s saying he`s fighting in a couple of months.A couple of months ago on another thread i was saying that 50 is probably telling Dirrel dates just to calm Dirrel down and that 50 don`t know when he could get Dirrel a fight.And remember what happened to Billy Dib?He was suppose to fight on the Trout/Cotto undercard but then got kicked off cause 50 kept on running his mouth dissing the wrong people.Now when is Billy Dib is fighting?






Ishe Smith and J`leon love is signed to Mayweather promotions and they fought numerous times last year and both of them are fighting on February 23rd.And Floyd Mayweather himself whose on Mayweather promotions is fighting in May;But yet Dirrel and Dib still has`nt got a fight yet.Only Gamboa got a fight and it was on a Top Rank undercard-the same promoter 50 stole Gamboa from and 50 wound up paying over a million dollars to get Gamboa out of of his contract with Top Rank-but then 50 had to go crawling to Top Rank to get Gamboa a fight on a undercard,that`s embarrassing.


Looks to me that Floyd made a smart move to not start a promotional company with 50.So much for SMS promotions.

Floyd doesnt have an income problem. Anyone who makes millions a year does not have an income problem. Floyd has a spending problem. He will probably be broke one day.

He doesnt seem to be interested in promoting at all but if he is smart he will start it up when he retires like Hatton is trying to do.

50 cent says there is no LLC at all but I have a hard time believing that. Any accountant or lawyer would probably have him setup an LLC even if he is not promoting anybody just to run the money through it for liability and tax reasons.

50 cent seems a bit in over his head. He thought boxing would be easy money. he had a gym he was calling his own gym but actually bought with some other dude and had this other dude who co-owned the gym throwing his fighters out of the ring when JMM stops by. Now he wants his own new gym and who knows how much money is lost by doing all of that and having spent 1 million just to buy out gamboa when he is still an undercard fighter and it will take years to break even.

He forgets most of these other promoters were in the business for decades. Sure DLH jumped right in and got big quickly but he did it with a lot of good help from other people. There was also a void in the lower weight classes from Don King winding down and really only being a big player in the heavyweights in the late 90s and early 2000s so there was room for another big promoter to challenge Top Rank in the lower weight classes.

Now that TR and GBP are there in the lower classes there isnt as much room to move in for 50 as DLH had when he did. He has to convince fighters that signing with him would be better than signing with GBP. How can he get them a better deal when he doesnt have the economies of scale that GBP has? He has to loose money to get them like he did with gamboa in hopes to make it back later.

An accountant would also make sure taxes were paid on time.


I don't believe Floyd even has an accountant with how poorly he manages his money.
