Why are people calling Canelo-Khan a super fight?

I could list the reason why bookies no fuk all about boxing, but considering they apparently have Khan as 3-1, I don't think I should have to.

Canelo is the favourite but if khan brings the best version of himself along with a top plan from virgil then it's closer than you think. ..

The best version might do ok up untill the point canelo lands a half decent punch. If kahn gets hurt canelo will be able to finish him quiet easily!!

In the UK it seems like a big deal, i wouldnt say superfight but a big fight for sure. The fact he got the 3rd most marketable fighter in boxing to fight him at a higher weight class has created intrigue.

Bookies know ALL sports! They hire people who know about sports. The problem here isn't whether you or I think they know boxing, it is that you don't have a clue about bookies.

Bookies are not trying to pick the winner, they are trying to achieve an even spread on both guys. They would have already used calculations to work out the odds in a way that no matter who wins they have will be in profit. The profit is 'in built' in their opening odds and what they predetermine are likely to be the betting patterns of the public. Now in the next few weeks if too much money goes on one fighter then they will assess and change the odds to try and tempt people to put money on the other side so it balances back into their ideal 'profit model'.

The bookies objective is much like how the stock market operates, it is to minimise risk and take small gains over a longer period of time.

Plenty of examples, I don't think Mayweather has ever been shorter than 1/3 in the last 10 years and he's been in plenty of super fights.

Hagler-Leonard, Ali-Foreman, top of my head both much wider underdogs according to the bookies.
