  • 84 year old former Shoshone chief had his cattle stolen by the BLM.

Different case than the Bundy one recently in the news in that fellow Nevada rancher Raymond Yowell has a legitimate claim on full ownership of the land his cattle were grazing. But like Cliven Bundy, Yowell's grazing permit was wrongfully rescinded by the BLM. They then seized his 132 head of cattle (which he had been legally grazing for decades,) auctioned them off (kept the proceeds) and then sent him a bill for $180,000.00. Even more egregious is the fact that they are still garnishing his Social Security checks, leaving him with less than a thousand a month, of this 84 year old Native American to pay for these grazing penalties.

Yowell is currently suing the BLM and the Treasury Department for 30 million dollars.

Well that seems like it's completely wrong on the part of the BLM and the govt. The Bundy thing though, maybe I'm missing something but it seems the govt was in the right and just garnishing guns and threatening people isn't the way to handle things.

Funny how they resorted to threats and got what they wanted, that doesn't set a good precedence for the law.
