Thompson 2 highlights
When WK fought Thompson there was not great difference in weight (in fact Thompson outweighed WK once!) or height (Thompson is 6'5", only an inch shorter than Wlad) A very similar situation as with Pulev.
Pulev is also a stand up, ranged fighter too, as was Thompson.
When WK meets this shape and style of fighter, with sufficient skills as both Pulev and Thompson do, WK did not hug his opponent often. That happens against the shorter bull type fighters who'se only real chance is to rush WK and hope to score money shots.
WK was also unable to completely shut down Thompson's style, as he might find similarly with Pulev.
You can see clearly from the Thompson highlights above, that it was good old fashioned punch speed and punch power that won him the fight, making it more entertaining.
I think (and hope) that we might be in for a similar treat with this very worthy opponent. I still think WK will win, but I think he will not enjoy his usual complete control as he has been used to lately.
