  • The ScoreCard thread.

A simple thread in which if you watch a fight and score it you then post the results here, and others can debate.

I have dug out some old scorecards from some contentious fights. I must concede, I haven't sat down with these bouts in an awful long time (some of them, more than three years), but I can say I've scored all of them at least twice in the past. Here goes...

De La Hoya-Whitaker: De La Hoya by 1

De La Hoya-Trinidad: De La Hoya by 3

    De La Hoya-Quartey: Even

De La Hoya-Mosley II: De La Hoya by 2

De La Hoya-Sturm: Sturm by 2

    Bowe-Holyfield II: Bowe by 1

    Lewis-Holyfield II: Lewis by 2

    Lewis-Mercer: Lewis by 3

    Jones-Tarver I: Even

    Holmes-Norton: Holmes by 3

    Pacquiao-Marquez I: Pacquiao by 2

    Pacquiao-Marquez II: Marquez by 2

    ------------

De La Hoya-Whitaker --- De La Hoya UD12. Robbery? No.

De La Hoya-Trinidad --- Trinidad MD12. Robbery? Yes.

De La Hoya-Quartey --- De La Hoya SD12. Robbery? No.

De La Hoya-Mosley II --- Mosley UD12. Robbery? Yes.

De La Hoya-Sturm --- De La Hoya UD12. Robbery? Yes.

    Bowe-Holyfield II --- Holyfield MD12. Robbery? No.

    Lewis-Holyfield II --- Lewis UD12. Robbery? No.

    Lewis-Mercer --- Lewis MD10. Robbery? No.

    Jones-Tarver I --- Jones SD12. Robbery? No.

    Holmes-Norton --- Holmes SD12. Robbery? No.

    Pacquiao-Marquez I --- Draw. Robbery? Yes.

    Pacquiao-Marquez II --- Pacquiao SD12. Robbery? No.

As you can see, some results I disagreed with, but not all I felt were robberies as a result.

Just watched a couple of fights were the scoring and results were disputed, Cotto vs Mosley and JMM vs Pac 2

I caught alot of critisizim for my Cotto vs Mosley card at the time but ive watched it a million times and im standing by this score

      Round 1: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 2: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 3: 10-10 EVEN

      Round 4: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 5: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 6: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 7: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 8: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 9: 9-10 MOSLEY

      Round 10: 9-10 MOSLEY

      Round 11: 10-9 COTTO

      Round 12: 9-10 MOSLEY

      TOTAL - 117-112 COTTO

I felt Miguel had the better start and took the opener, The second was closer but i gave it to Cotto with his big Left cross nicking the round. I couldnt split them in the third - Even Jack Mosley said it was even and was happy as if he knew theyd lost the first 2. The fourth i prefered Cotto's work, The 5th was a big round for Cotto, The sixth he took again this timed maily based on strong right hands, Round Seven was close but i liked Miguel and he was tagging Shane as he was backing up all round, Another close round in the eighth, the nineth was Mosleys and he had Cotto backing up with a mouth injury, tho it was made close and Cotto scored with a big left at the end. Round ten belonged to Shane IMO i liked his right hand bombs but Manny Steward thought it was a Cotto round or even. In the eleventh Miguel pulled it back landing the cleaner harder shots off of the back foot but in the twelfth Miguel was backing up too much without scoring too much and Mosley took the round

Alot of people felt Mosley was ROBBED, i hate how that word gets thrown about! But im of the opinion not only did the right man win but it was clear, most of the rounds were pretty well contended but Cotto did the better work for me

How did you score this exactly, you think DLH won 7 and drew 1?
