Grinding noise from knuckle??

for the past couple of months now i have a grinding noise from my forefinger knuckle and although it usually doesnt hurt, its just doesnt sound good. It comes on from heavy bag training and lasts for a couple of days and back to normal, until the next time im on the bag. do any of you have this grinding noise? it's pretty loud especially when i open and close my finger and hold it next to me ear.

Any long term affects? do i need to get this checked out by a doc?

i got this a couple times i believe, except my knuckle grinded when i would rub on it in a circular sort of motion. i think its displaced fluid/cartilage/your body trying to repair the damage to your hands. itll go away.
