    It depends.

The amateur ranks in USA are second to none. Only the old Soviet Bloc could compare, and that no longer exists. Mad competition over there.

I would say it's harder for them to become the USA media darlings, because there is so much quality opposition. However, after they become the media darlings, their is a bias in their favor regarding rankings and P4P lists, compared to foreign fighters.

Not a BAD thing in a comparison as it would happen the same in every other country. If Germany was the boxing mecca, their fighters would be favored in rankings and P4P lists, and so on.

But that is how I see it.

Yes, America has the most fighters in the world and on top of that the best facilities to train at, trainers and the such. You also have to figure with Americans diversity that a lot of the best fighters from other regions fight here as well. There is no doubt that it is much more difficult to succeed if you are an American due to the depth of the country and this is why you see many American fighters when they step up to world class level that they are already pretty seasoned. It is more difficult for example a good Columbian fighter to be ready for the very best if all he knows is fighting other Columbians. All these reasons are why any world class fighter needs to test himself here because America is really where you know where you stand talent wise.
