Beating top ten ATG heavyweights, plus several Hof'ers, not to mention plenty of guys that if they were fighting in a multiple belt era, would of been champs. His reume is straight up ridiculous.
True but avenging a defeat to a gold medal winner (you know in an era where winning a gold medal meant alot) who was much younger and had upset him was a huge deal. It wasn't as significant as beating Frazier in fights 2 and 3, Foreman or Liston 1 of course.

      Its just a nostalgia hangover

Duran was a legend but he had his flaws like everyone else.

At 140 Arron Pryor and Julio Cesar Chavez would have beaten him to a pulp or man handled him Castillo man handled him and he was only a sparring partner for Chavez

castillo and JCC dont even fight similar.....Castillo is better at long range, had a better jab and cutting off fighters fleet of foot than JCC...JCC struggled with guys with speed and movement like Frankie Randall who floyd beat up as a teenager in his camp, meldrick taylor, whitaker, some people think Juan Laporte beat him as well

castillo did well vs boxers like Johnston, casamayor and diaz

He is taller, longer reach, better jab than JCC who was better coming forward slipping while JLC parried well.

I dont see why people thinkk JLC is a clone of JCC

He matured into a full sized welterweight. He would weigh in at 147 and be all bone and muscle without an ounce of extra weight. He fought Marquez at an agreed on 144 pound catchweight and couldn't go lower than 146 so he wasn't a natural 130-140 pounder at that time. I have seen plenty of fantasy fights on here involving Mayweather at 130 to 140 pounds against great fighters of the past including Pryor, Marquez, Duran, Chavez and others. Fantasy fights are just that. A fantasy with the winner being whoever you want it to be. Mayweather never lost a real fight so as an obvious Mayweather lover just be happy with that.

Also a good left hook and at 130-40 floyd used his jab to the body and lead hook a lot often....the same punch dejesus was tagging duran with. both are better overall fighters than dejesus and even some of his strengths they actually do it better.

Even that buchanan fight was controversial...that was low blow!!
              Yes.

Armstrong is better for the job. He could force guys into inside fights WITHOUT pushing them to the ropes.

Chavez was a much better fighter than Castillo. You are right that they had different styles and strong points. Chavez punched harder, took a punch better and was harder to hit cleanly. Chavez also worked the body better and finished stronger. Chavez had a much longer prime and was far more consistent. Casillo is generally remembered as a very good fighter in his somewhat short prime while Chavez is always remembered as a great fighter.

DeJesus beat Duran and Floyd is better than him , Floyd is better than most who beat Duran .

Floyd would out box Duran for UD .

The reason is that most of the people who post on this message board never saw Floyd fight at 130, 135 and 140. They talk a lot about the fight with Castillo, but 98 percent of them never actually saw the fight.

Also, talking about his performances at 130-140 would kill the hater's buzz because no one can argue that he didn't fight or beat the best opponents in those divisions.
