Well you not from the US so you don't know how it works HERE

In the US it is about CITIES NOT STATES, Los Angeles and Oakland is not the same. Los Angeles is Southern California, Oakland is Northern California and yes it is a HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Take it from someone that live in Los Angeles while Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley where in their PRIME...Los Angeles is a GREAT BOXING CITY!

GGG will be a star in Los Angeles, also credit to his promotion they're doing a phenomenal job promoting him and getting him out with the people and greating the fans in Los Angeles, they're actually doing a far better job than a lot of the US Based Promoters are doing with their own fighters who are from the US.

GGG will be the new Pacquiao and I think he will reach his level of Star Power as far as a guy who not from the US but will be able to come and be a star and make a lot money here.

Robert Garcia said the fight sold out like instantly, that he couldent even get tickets for his own people.

GGG is on track to becoming a star. Pulling close to 10,000 fans in NYC and LA is a very good accomplishment.

The problem with exciting KO artists like GGG is that he will attract fans who want to see excitement and action. GGG is bad for the sport. He will ruin everything by attracting fans who have no interest in how well he does in compubox percentages.

A lot of fans were there for GGG but Nonito was also on the undercard. And he too is a big star in California.

I was comparing his US run to Pac's last week, in that Pac took two and a half years to get his crossover fight with Barrera, and GGG could potentially get his in a similar time frame.

But Pac had the advantage of being in Barrera and Morales' neighbourhood, and he had the large Filipino-American fan base.

GGG has had nothing like that to help him build his rep. Nor is he backed by one of the major American promoters either. He's had to do it by going out and destroying everyone who's been put in front of him.
                Excellent post.

No he's not. Back when Donaire vs. Nishioka + Rios vs. Alvarado I was at the Stub Hub Center everybody left after the Rios vs. Alvarado fight. Nobody stayed for the main event.

If GGG makes it America as a popular boxer of foreign origin, which American boxer will try to discredit him at every opportunity without getting in the ring with him?
