The past sixty years have been unprecedented in terms of peacefulness. Prior to 1914 major powers started a war with each other with open hostilities approximately twice per year all the way back to when coherent nation states first formed. All the while internal violence has also been reducing in terms of bodycount.

There are some riots in some deeply corrupt countries like Venezuela and Ukraine pointing to a change in government and I would expect the next leader to start worrying should be Vladimir Putin. People in Russia are getting very upset about the lack of transparency in government.

Dickheads like to talk about how corrupt countries like the United States are, but in comparison with places like Venezuela it's a utopia. Just think, American senators are referring to the President in racist terms and people are openly talking about the President being a traitor. How long do you think a politician would get away with doing that to Vladimir Putin?

Russia/ former Soviet states are fundamentally different from America, so your comparisons seem vague.

i would say no because despite the west being corrupt, its not at that level where you cant even have a normal life like a lot of these third world developing countries.

you can be poor in america and still live a somewhat comfortable easy life.

Despite america being deeply religious, you're not gonna see the country stone to death sluts (no we give them money and tv shows) or see baptists killing catholics like the muslims do.

Take care of your people and they wont revolt. Egypt had 25% plus unemployment, i didnt look it up but i reckon its also high in a lot of these countries that are revolting. Hell obama was getting his arse handed to him for 8-9% unemployment. You got russia with the most expensive olympic games in history but cant afford private toilets nor flushing capabilities. The russian politicians charged the country 50 billion then cheaped out on everything and pocketed the change.

Say what you want about the west and america but we have the proper foundation for effective government which is democracy and that protects its citizens somewhat affording them a chance at a good life.

You will never get rid of political corruption. How much corruption is the problem. The middle east/muslim nation have excessive religious/social corruption while the russian eastern europe have excessive financial corruption.

You have to give your citizenry a chance. Some of these countries my god you dont even have a chance.
