Not as far as legacy is concerned it wasn't a huge mistake.

Re-capturing the LHW title, from #1 man at LHW (no it wasn't DM)... AFTER coming down from HW... is huge.

      Wlad would have murdered him.

RJJ always had a glass chin no way in hell he could take a clean shot off any heavyweight with punching power.

Tyson is one of the most overrated heavyweights in history but even a passed prime Tyson would have K.Oed Jones.
he always had a glass chin but wasnt knocked out until he was 35 years old and after dropping 30+ pounds of muscle from moving up to HW?

Roy Jones Jr. beat Ruiz so that means he could beat Wlad? A ha ha ha ha ha.

Who dreams up this crap, anyway?

This is crazy.. wouldn't be shocked if a Wlad jab put him on queer street..

Tyson at that stage? can't remember what he was up to.. if it was round the time he was losing to Danny Williams then yeah Jones probably would have his way with him

Yes he always had a glass jaw imo it’s just his reflexes that allowed him to avoid clean punches as soon as he started to slow down he got tagged and then the rest is history. Also carefully picked opposition played its part.

There is a reason he only fought Ruiz at heavyweight you can bet if Lewis was holding that belt there’s no way in hell Roy would have fought him.

He didn't drop 30lbs of muscle, that's a bit exaggerated.. but he undoubtedly did lose muscle, and a **** ton of water.. he was dehydrated as hell.

              This guy....

              Was definitely not this guy...

Roy wouldn't have to evade him for a full 12
Ruiz managed to hit Roy a few times so I'm kind of on the fence on that matchup. I however, do think that if Roy lasted past 6 he would have knocked out Tyson. Probably just as bad as Lennox did.

Actually no... Ruiz has nothing to do with anything.

I do have to mention that Jones did stagger a normally very durable Ruiz in the middle rounds. I don't think Adamek could have done as much IMO.

                      Based on exactly WHAT?

Theres an entire video dedicated to Roy getting hit throughout his entire prime.. He didn't get knocked out until he was 35 years old and dropping down two weight classes.
