Very original film. The Coen brothers deliver another great dark comedy like they did with Burn After Reading, and Fargo.

Its set in 1967 Minnesota. Great film, very funny. The dialogue was amazing. Ending was weird.

    9/10

    A better ending makes this a 10/10.

    sounds like a good catch

You're forgetting Millers Crossing. One of the Coen's finest piece. Great acting, good script.....all round enjoyable film. Different to other Gangster films you see from the likes of Scorcese etc...

First of all, I co-sign whoever brought up A Serious Man and the Coen brothers. They have a **** load of must-see films (my favourites being Fargo, O Brother and Miller's Crossing).

                    Moon imdb

Really cool sci-fi flick from last year directed by David Bowie's son. Heavily influenced by '2001: A Space Odyssey' and Tarkovsky's 'Solaris'. Excellent cinematography and soundtrack, and Sam Rockwell's performance is great.

                    8/10

                    Brick imdb

Stylish modern take on film noir (neo-noir I believe they're calling it). Setting a murder mystery in a middle American high school was a stroke of genius and Gordon-Levitt plays his part as the misanthropic amateur detective to perfection.

                    9/10

                    La Haine imdb

A dramatic 24 hour snapshot of three teens from the French suburbs who're caught in the middle of a period of friction between the suburb's poor immigrant population and the violent police force. One of the teens finds a police officer's lost handgun and vows to kill a cop if his friend who was injured during the riots dies in hospital.

                    10/10

so i did a movie day with my girl yesterday...we went to watch Predators and rented a couple of movies....

                      first, Predators:

it had its moments...it was interesting to see that there was another Predator creature...it had the feel of the first one like some of the members here said

                      entertaining flick...gave it a 7

                      now the rentals:

                      Dante's Inferno (the anime):

this was interesting because it had 6 artists and 6 directors...so you saw different versions of the characters...but that's about it

the fighting sucked...the story didnt grab you like it does the video game...i wouldnt watch this movie again...in fact, i thought about stopping it in the middle to watch something else

                      gave it a 4

and lastly, a movie i had high expectations for since i loved the first one: Boondock Saints 2

well, it sure wasn't like the 1st movie...the gun battles were ok...but the story seemed forced...i was a bit disappointed

                      gave it a 6.5
