In one hand he's done so much good for the sport and in another he's shafted the sport and us punters.

All his good and bad i still think boxing has done good for him being in it. 11,500 shows is no mean feat. He's clearly put a lot in but also taken a lot out.

WTF has Arum done? You guys are idiots.

He led boxing off of network tv and on to subscription channels and PPV. The sport has gone to one of the leaders in America to a fringe sport in America. Ya, he has done so much for the sport.

Don't confuse business with caring about the sport. He puts no money back into boxing.

There's no way that number is accurate. 11,500 cards comes out to a card EVERY SINGLE DAY for 31.5 years!

He's never put a dime into the sport?

He puts on a TON of independent PPV shows...that's putting his own money on the line COMPLETELY. All in an attempt to get fighters who the networks won't buy exposure. How many Ivan Calderon, Humberto Soto, Nonito Donaire(until recently) fights would we have been able to see without those shows?

The man may be greedy and conniving, but he has done A LOT for the sport.

                  copied from Wiki...

Since its founding, the company has promoted several world class fighters, such as Muhammad Ali, JI Penalver, Oscar De La Hoya, Roberto Durán, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Marvin Hagler, Manny Pacquiao, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Erik Morales, Thomas Hearns, Paulie Ayala, Iran Barkley, Michael Carbajal, Eric "Butterbean" Esch, Larry Holmes, Ray Mancini, Carlos Monzón, Terry Norris, Gabriel Ruelas, Rafael Ruelas, James Toney, and many others. The company has promoted such superfights as Hagler vs Leonard, Chavez vs De La Hoya, Holyfield vs Foreman, Foreman vs Moorer, Leonard vs Hearns, Hagler vs Hearns, Ali vs Frazier II and both Ali vs Spinks fights.

and the list goes on and on with modern boxers and cards. We can hate on him for preventing Pac-May but Top Rank runs boxing

think of every great fight that bob arum promoted. . .

and when HBO refuses to give fighters worthy of it airtime because of them wanting to please personal friends like haymon, arum puts on his own independent shows. . .

if HBO and Showtime got out of boxing completely, it would still go on. . .
