  • [QUOTE=.Buddha.;7703456]Come fight night Hopkins rehydrated back up to 169 lbs, if you watch the fight again you will hear Jim Lampley mention it.

Hopkins didn't weigh in after the fight so how would Lampley know that?

    • Hopkins has fought everyone he needed to fight. Questioning his competition is bollocks.

So the arguments that he won't fight bigger fighters are absurd.

the argument holds major weight....tarver is the ONLY equally sized, equally talented fighter that hopkins beat...in his whole career....everybody gave him some credit for that, albeit being tarver was a part-time movie actor by that point, it was still a decent win, but so far it the ONLY legit lightheavy that hopkins has fought since he moved up in weight...and this fool is top 5 p4p in the boxing mags and with experts....how the hell can you be this highly rated, and you're not fighting any of the top fighters in your division...claims on tv that he's gonna fight the winner of johnson/dawson 2, instead he's fighting a badly faded version of roy jones who just recently got ko'd by a c-level cruiserweight in his last fight...

Again, if you seriously think hopkins beat pavlik because of size you are a moron. they could have fought anywhere from 120 to 220 and it would have been the same result. Don't fool yourself kid.
          Pavlik is a MW bro..

hopkins beat glen johnson when he was green and hopkins best win is against trinidad who is the smaller man.hopkins also fought a bunch of bums for years but instead of just stayin in 1 bum ass division like hopkins roy jones moved up and fought bigger men

Do you people really think pavlik could have ever beat hopkins?

LMAO, you guys are either complete idiots or just haters. Either way you have very little boxing knowledge
so wait...Hopkins beat Pavlik because of SKILL? But Mayweather beat Marquez because of Size and skill?

Of course he did, like Lamphely has nothing better to do then lie about that. Also when ever they show the unofficial weigh ins for Hopkins it is always around the 170 lb mark watch the beginning of Hopkins fights with Taylor I and Taylor II

They are NOT equally sized. Tarver is not only taller, but he fought at LH his entire career. And you don't consider Calzaghe a legitimate LH? Or are you implying that Hopkins was the bigger fighter? You would be wrong on both points.

It's not like Lampley hasn't been wrong before. In fact he's been wrong plenty of times. But I'm asking if there was a weigh in after the official weigh in for Delahoya-Hopkins. I don't remember one but I could be wrong. Either way, it wouldn't change the fact that hopkins scaled down to 156. What he weighed after doesn't change that one bit.
