Floyd has been fighting B fighters at 147, or A fighters coming from very lower weights (Marquez, Pacquiao).

Leonard beat guys like Hearns or Duran who was a beast at 135 but also 147.
Duran beat Leonard and Hearns was leading on the cards before getting caught. Leonard can be outboxed.

Right, I was expecting Leonard to be respectful and admit that he would lose easily and that Floyd is a greater fighter and better human being than he'll ever be.

Any fighter having the confidence to think they could beat another fighter is just being classless and disrespectful like you said.

He might have beaten Floyd Sr. But Floyd Sr. was no Jr.

People talk about Floyd's level of competition at times, Leonard was meant to be an elite fighter when he was fighting bums like Bonds and Finch. He was the ultimate cherry picker, he truly did fight Hagler because he felt Hagler was on the slide and ready to be beaten.
Hearns wasn't coming off a ko loss, Duran wasn't coming off a ko loss, Hagler wasn't coming off a ko loss. Pacquiao, Cotto, Hoya all ko'd within 3 years before facing Floyd. Leonard is the cherry picker between the two?

            And?

Mayweather was outboxable too at his best weight, IMO Castillo beat him in their first fight, thanks VEGAS.

At the end of the day, SRL koed Hearns and is 2-1 vs Duran.

And that's Duran and Hearns we talking about, not fcking Maidana or Castillo.

You can struggle in a fight/lose, that's what happens:

            1) when you don't cherry pick your whole career waiting for guys to age or lose
            2) when you fight great fighters in their prime

Even Berto was better than someone like Finch. So Floyd's level of consistency in terms of better opponents was higher.

Also, Hagler was overrated, he lost to some journeymen too that people don't really talk about. He had a few decent wins but his the biggest names he beat was him basically feasting on smaller men moving up. He's basically did what Canelo just did to Khan.

Duran lost to quite a few journeymen too. People like Kirkland Laing beat him.

              Hearns was chinny anyway.

              • As much as I'd like to engage in nostalgia with everyone else and as much as I dislike Mayweather, it has to be said that Floyd is the significantly more skilled fighter, as good a boxer as Leonard was. Pound for pound I think Floyd gets the best of Leonard in a good technical boxing match. In reality, Leonard's size advantage could be telling though and he'd probably get the win at welterweight. That said, he'd look terrible doing it, if he could do it at all. Leonard has the better resume of course but Floyd is the better boxer of the two.

Difference is Mayweather gave them rematches, SRL wanted no part of Hearns or Duran after escaping with the W until they were older and more war torn. SRL was VERY selective on who and when he fought them, the same thing people hate on Mayweather for.

Although, Floyd would definitely be a champ in that era, he's just too talented and smart plus the work ethic helps him since lots of guys then would parry everytime they get a win.

Floyd gets stopped by Hearns and Leonard. Outboxes Duran and Hagler shouldn't be on the coversation.
                      LOL based on?

His terrific performances over other latino fighters? the Maidanas and Ortiz Castilloz and Baldomirs of the world? LOL

Duran was so much of a bad ass that you can't count him out.

Dude as a career 135 fighter had enough ressources, skills and power to be a middleweight champion, compete with Hagler, move up and beat a A+++ fighter in Leonard (maybe the greatest performance/win of all time).

At 135 in his prime he was a complete beast and mostly lost to bigger men his whole career and would have been the best fighter Floyd ever faced (THE OPPOSITE CAN'T BE SAID).
