If the cop was a family member of yours would you rather them act as judge, jury and executioner or would you rather them get killed?

Killed. a large portion of my descendants and current family are mennonites, and strick pacafists. go back to 1600 and i likely had family members who died non resisting just for being anabaptists.

take that kid that that one guy who was specifically targeting cops killed, had just been on the force for a short time, hadnt done anything wrong, and bam, dead.

In the sense that that kid was innocent in his death, my family member would also be innocent, on top of that in going out of his way to not kill the suspect hed be doing something more as the young cop who was shot didnt have the chance to do anything, Id be incredibly proud to find out something like that happened to a family member, itd be almost jesus like to die in the line of duty for doing something that you morally believe to be right, and not because the law requires you too.
