[PLEASE HELP] Do you respond to your texts right away or do you wait a while?

I always have my phone on me so I know when someone texts me. I usually wait a while when it comes to women of interest because I missed out on some girls when I first started texting girls by coming off desperate replying quickly, well that and the "please **** me, I'm desperate" texts didn't help either. When it comes to my friends, I reply when I can, maybe a few mins later. Anyway, do you respond quickly? Do you think you come off desperate when you do respond quickly? What are your texting habits?

like right now my phone right next to my keyboard and when a text comes in and I glance at it depending on who it is and how I feel I text back or I Dont no method behind it.
