Imagine If Paulie Malignaggi Had Power...

The fact is that if his right hand had power, he might not have developed a great jab or his boxing skills to such a level.
I like Paulie though and give him more credit than most. He's a tough mofo and could take a shot as good as anybody and never had an ounce of quit in him. I think he's done now though.
But his career also shows the difference between the power of someone like Floyd and Malignaggi. Floyd is not a big puncher at WW but must hit harder than people think because big guys like Canelo were not to keen to try and walk through him once they tasted a few right hands. I think Pacquiao didn't particularly like that right hand when he got 2 in the first round.
Paulie on the other hand had no power at all so it allowed fighters like Hatton to walk through him.Last edited by deathofaclown; 08-01-2015, 07:21 PM.

Generic hit-and-run merchant. Give him power (planting your feet and actually turning your punches over always helps, for what it's worth) and he'd still be a very average boxer that relies too much on his legs to get him out of trouble.

That fight with Pauli was his final fight there.
Which explains why he looks dead in that photo.
