  • Comments Thread For: Cornelius Bundrage v. Cory Spinks Early Results

By Jake Donovan - Cornelius Bundrage defends his alphabet 154 lb. title against Cory Spinks in the Showtime-televised main event Saturday night at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. The bout is a rematch to their Aug. ’10 clash, in which Bundrage violently annexed the belt with a sixth round stoppage.

In the televised opener, Erislandy Lara banged out a unanimous decision win over Freddy Hernandez (30-3-1, 20KO). Scores were 95-94, 98-91 and 99-90 in favor of Lara (17-1-1, 11KO), who busted up Hernandez’ face with sharp punching throughout. Lara was docked a point in round eight for a cut-inducing headbutt.

pretty good first fight. thought lara looked good, especially 2nd half of fight just pounding Hernandez. too bad he couldn't get the ko. hernandez to his credit kept coming forward and kept things interesting, certainly showed a good chin tonight considering he got kod in one by berto.

gary Russell jr absolutely destroyed perez. such fast combos. he's ready to step up.

Instead of sucking on Russell's balls they should have been talking about how he backed out of an eliminator with Luis Franco to fight a hapless helpless import setup. Apprarently he had no confidence of beating the undefeated Franco.

They couldn't find anything better than this Christopher Perez ? the dude previous fight opponent record was 0-2-0 and still they tried to match him to Russel ?

Men what happened with that judge? 94-95. I don't sought Freddie win any round. My respect to him. Another Mexican warrior.

Yea. People **** on canelo's opposition although this dude is 3 years older. Time to step up.

I like Russel, but he isnt the greatest prospect when he is 24 and beating on softies.

I give up too. Russell is just wasting everybody's time with this BS, especially his. Most careers are short and the 'sweet time' is even shorter and here he is slapping nobody for short money. This guy acts like he doesn't want any money, I don't want to watch this crap. BOOOOOOO....

Lara on an interview before the fight said he shouldn't keep doing what he did to Hearns or else people would keep avoiding him. Im not saying that's what happens but MAYBE he wanted the fight to last? Nonetheless very good fight for Lara. Did anyone else notice he was being more aggressive than usual.

There was an article here on Boxingscene about it. It had to do something with the dates and HBO or some crap along those lines. It was definitely not a DUCK. If anything it was the promoters who pulled him out of it if Im not mistaken.
