    My Pantera history isn't great, but wasn't that before Phil Anselmo was in the band?

    Alice in Chains were also hair metal before Layne Staley joined the band, maybe i'm mixing it up.

            I wouldnt call them a hairband; their image was in line with other metal bands of the early/mid 80s, but that didn't make their music hairmetal.



            I like their first album with Phil; a transitional record where they're basically Judas Priest.

                      Listening to Reinventing the Steel, (just because i never listened to it much when it was released so its still "fresh" to me) always makes me appreciate dimebag and Vinnie as a duo.
                      Their musicianship was unreal.

                      Plus i read a article by Dave Grohl talking about Dime. A nice read.
