The chemical weapon is mainly an alibi to intervene in the Syrian war really. 100,000+ have already been slaughtered and the figures are rapidly going up. This isn't about humanity, this is do with strategic measures. Both Russian and the USA have their own ideologies on this. There is lose-lose situation for both parties. Iran are mainly worried how the conclusion ends here I guess. They have a lot at stake as US gain more ground in the region.

On the topic of the Syrian revolution.. The problem is the revolution has been practically hijacked by extreme Islamist and Jihadist now. A large portion of the FSA consist of foreigners fighters. The initial uprising was to display how they are fed up living under the Assad led regime. Thing is, the war in Syria isn't even about Assad anymore - its went full swing into a Religious war. What you have now is *****es, Sunnis, Alawites, Christians and multiple organisations taking sides in Syria. There is practically thousands of foreign fighters pilling in Syria fighting for the Ideology they deem to be right. Half of the fighters aren't thought to be of even Syrian anymore, or the FSA. The place is infested with radicals and foreigners from all over the Middle-East promoting their own agenda's.

Assad is Alawite which is a problem in the Islamic world too. Alawites make up a small portion of Syria, about 10% or even less. It is said to have elements of Christianity. They critically acclaimed to be more infidels than Christians. In the Islamic world they aren't deemed or recognized as true Muslims. And considering Alawites are a small minority in the Islamic world, and in Syria, the consensus is this is BS Assad should be leading the way. Alawites are said to a highly controversial religion due to the mystery surrounding the religion.

Now, if Assad is overthrown, there is dangers Alawites, Christians, and other ethnic minorities in Syria will be massacred. At the moment, they are practically being slaughtered in Syria and being ordered to obey Islam or convert or executed in their own towns. Hypothetically speaking, They'll probably have to migrate or convert if Assad was to be eradicated from office There are extremists preaching 'Death to all Alawites, Christians, *****es, and other ethnics minorities, or anyone that supports Assad. From my understanding under Assad you did at least have religious freedom. The risk is; ethnic minorities will have no future in Syria. A Sunni - muslim led state will be led, and those that backed Assad will probably end up dead for supporting him in the civil war. And to note, a militant Islamic led government would see minorities fleeing or having to covert, or end up dead.

Basically the Syrian war has turned into a radical state of affairs. Let's be honest, ts been happening for hundreds of years over there. It just shows that different beliefs don't bode well together and undoubtedly will ever truly be able tolerate one another without a bit of friction being involved. Muslims kill their own and have radicalized views.

It's actually a shame how this has turned out. The people that wanted better for Syria have practically had their potential freedom taken away due to terrorist organisations playing their part and many taking sides based on Religion. There is chance democracy is not met and Syria turns into a militant led Islamic state. Sunni's have been calling for Jihad against Assad (great).

Now the great thing in Western society, a democracy (I say that lightly) is you are free to choose your beliefs. They aren't forced upon you. You can do whatever you like without having the risk of being subjected to torture and killed. You have freedom of speech and can have your say. I can't see for a minute in the Middle-East this will happen.

Libya and Egypt have yet to install democracy. There still destabilized countries. The Middle-East is to complicated beyond comprehension in honesty. Its Muslims killing Muslims all over again inflicting their own ideologies in Syria, with ethnic minorities being caught in the mix to take a side themselves. Christians have been told to take up arms to defend themselves from both the Syrian regime and the FSA,other terrorist organisations since they are being heavily targeted in their own villages.

The truth is; nobody will ever get along when it comes to religion. Its in human DNA to fight and a take a side. The Middle-East is a ****ed up place. You can't win over there. There are also ulterior motives with Russia, UK, USA, China, Iran, Israel wanting to get on in the action and play their part for their own benefits. Do not for think for a second any of these particular nations care for humanitarian reasons. Obama has being basing decisions on emotion rather than logic and Putin has had him bang to rights. Not that I agree wholesomely with Putin, but his reasoning is far clearer and logically thought than Obama ill logic threatening to drop a few bombs and magically make the situation better. Obama hasn't done himself any favors at all. The Middle-East is the most dangerous region in the world with many hate clerics looking to exploit giving the chance.

Sorry for the long post. I do find the subject of Religion fascinating and the on-going conflict over there interesting due to different beliefs/ideologies. Hopefully one day everyone can leave in peace and tranquility someday.
