    that is actually a good point. it seems like such a simplistic trick of movie-makers but it makes sense.

                      Because when you fly an englishman to the film set you don't need to pay for 2 seats.




                      On a serious note though, it's much harder to find a handsome thin man in america so they realised they might as well go for an englishman who speaks with a sometimes slightly posh accent because they sound classy and they look the part as well.
