    TO BE TELECAST LIVE ON SETANTA SPORT IN U.K., APRIL 2

    World’s Premier Brand of MMA Sports Returns to Pay-Per-View in Britain

    LAS VEGAS, March 3, 2004…Ultimate Fighting Championshipâ 47: It’s On!, an all-star, eight-fight mixed martial arts fight show on Friday, April 2, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, will be telecast LIVE on pay-per-view on Setanta Sport in the United Kingdom. The UFCâ brand of mixed martial arts is the world’s premier MMA sports event.

    UFC 47: It’s On! will air live starting at 4 a.m. BST, Saturday, April 3, and the retail price for U.K. fight fans is 14.95 pounds. Setanta Sport is available through SKY Digital and on-demand cable. Sky Digital customers can access the show by pressing the select button on channel 435 or by calling 08708 500 005. NTL and Telewest customers can access the event through their “TV On Demand” service.

    This is the third consecutive UFC fight show to be televised live by Setanta Sport. U.K. fight fans enjoyed UFC 45: Revolution, on November 21, and UFC 46: Super Natural on January 31.

    UFC 47: It’s On! will be televised LIVE at 10 p.m. EST in the U.S. on iNDemand, DirecTV, Dish Network, TVN, Echostar, Bell ExpressVu and Viewers Choice Canada. The suggested retail price is $29.95.

    In the main event, Light Heavyweight top contenders Tito Ortiz (11-3-0 in MMA) from Huntington Beach, Calif., and Chuck Liddell (12-3-0) from San Luis Obispo, Calif., will finally meet in the Octagon. Fans, promoters and the media have waited almost two years for this fight. In the co-main event, former Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia (18-0-0) from Davenport, Iowa, will return to face hard-hitting Andrei Arlovski (7-3-0) from Minsk, Belarus, for the UFC heavyweight title.

    In other bouts, popular Hawaiian heavyweight “Cabbage” Correira (20-4-0) from Hilo will take on big Mike Kyle from San Jose, Calif., after two new heavyweights Jonathan Wiezorek (5-0-0) from Valdosta, Ga., and Wade Shipp (6-1-0) from San Diego, Calif., will meet in a preliminary bout. Two welterweight bouts will feature Robbie Lawler (8-1-0), one of the UFC’s rising stars from Davenport, Iowa, versus Nick Diaz (8-2-0) from Stockton, Calif., and Chris Lytle (26-10-4) from Indianapolis, Ind., against Tiki Ghosn (9-3-0) from Huntington Beach, Calif. In lightweight action, two top contenders, Yves Edwards (22-8-1) from Houston, Tex., and Hermes Franca (8-1-0) from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., will battle after Mike Brown (6-1-0) from Portland, Maine, meets popular Japanese fighter Genki Sudo (8-3-1) from Tokyo.
