This fight had 7,760 in attendance, but Lance Pugmire said they were using SRO seat filling service.

The DC show likely had more than double the purse and had a reported 4,135 attendance, though it looked far less. That place only holds around 10k, and it looked like it was shockingly far from half full.

Boxing fans should be frustrated b/c with the money being spent on these events there not building anything that'll support future growth.
Wow Terrible attendance numbers worse when you consider PBC likely gave away half those tickets for free.

Get real if PBC doesn't run out of money before the time buys are up that is the last time you will see PBC on any network. PBC is too expensive to maintain and produce and gets crap ratings but networks will been lining up to finance this? LMAO
Based on that is how live sports are viewed by TV currently, those are people who actually watch commercials because they have to watch it live. Their ratings are in line with other live sports outside football.

I am quite sure PBC will get a solid TV deal better than anyone will expect. Nothing you say changes that and that really doesn't change the fact that they could still fail after and would still not be making money. A realistic goal is that they would break even in 5 to 7 years which would probably be their second content deal.

It is a long process and everyone involved would understand that reversing the trend in boxing was going to be a long hard slog. They failed before they started if they though they were going to flip the switch and print money.

What a shame, I was certain this fight would do big ratings numbers.

Why? They aren't even top tier fighters, or memorable. They are just two old guys that have been beaten up by lesser fighters already.

The HBO quite possibly had more views last Saturday night. It was 1.325 for HBO subscribers. But it was obviously more with the people that watched during the free weekend.

Yeah I guess I was overly optimistic about this one since both have fought Mayweather on PPV and their first fight was a barnburner (first 6 rounds at least.) I thought the casuals would check this one out.

The April 30 primetime edition of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Fox featured a loaded evening of knockouts in the ring. Unfortunately, it came up short when it came to tallying up viewership.

The second installment of the series of free-to-air Fox TV averaged 1.51 million viewers over the course of the two-plus hour telecast, which aired live at 8:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. locally) from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calf. Such ratings are considered preliminary, as Nielsen Media Research has proven that live sports tend to trend upward upon final review.

That sucks because casuals would have loved that card.
