Why is Margarito considering a Clottey fight and ignoring Williams?

Let me tell you why.

Joshua Clottey just fought a main event against the former WW Champion, Zab Judah on HBO and won. He is on a winning streak and hasn't lost a fight since Tony Margarito in '06.

Paul Williams' last two fights were on Showtime. Neither of which was the main event. He lost the first one, with a horrible showing, and didn't show much in the rematch, which could be considered a fluke, with Quintana not being properly warmed up.

If Williams wants to raise his value, he needs to seek a 3rd fight with Quintana or a slugfest against Kermit Cintron. This fight needs to happen on HBO, preferibly on a doubleheader with Tony vs Clottey. Then maybe if he wins, a fight with Tony would be more sellable to the general public.

Margarito is the bigger draw. That's what determines who chases who. And Williams knows this and is playing that part.

I'm ok with the marg/clottey fight because they have unfinished business, but the only fight that really matters right now at ww is marg/williams.

The truth is finally said....williams asking for 2.5 million...is ridiculous...no one knows who he is...margarito fought Jotto for 1.5 million...and won now he will earn much more...if williams wants a big payday he first has to accept the lower amount and beat margarito and then request a higher amount....williams is a ghost..no one sees him ..he is a nobody....

Cotto was the draw in his fight with Margs. Margs isn't a big draw. The thing is he has Arum so he will get more money than Williams. Williams will be in the spot light just like Margs was for the first time if he beats Margs again. Everyone knows Cotto carried the ppv. Nobody knew Margs before he fought Cotto.
