  • How many fighters have held more than 1 lineal title at the same time?

According to records, Joe Calzaghe became the RING Light Heavyweight champion in April 2008 after beating Bernard Hopkins. He didn't vacate the RING Super Middleweight title until September 2008. How many other guys in history have achieved that?

Ray Leonard at 154 and 147 in 1981.

Calzaghe was never linear champ at 175 so the thread title is a little confusing.

Most famous for holding lineal titles at the same time at different weights is Homicide Hank who held FW, LW and WW. He was arguably robbed of a fourth title when drawing Garcia for the MW crown.

Joe Calzaghe defeated Bernard Hopkins to capture the RING Light Heavyweight championship. A title widely regarded as the modern day lineal title at any specific weight class. Do your homework.

Is this under the logic that Zsolt Erdei is the lineal LHW champ?

A little lesson for you. Call it your homework:

Erdei was linear champion in a lineage going back to Virgil Hill. The lineage was broken when Michael Spinks went to HW. Hill claimed it when he as the no.1 ranked beat the no. 2 ranked (who was Henry Maske).

Calzaghe was Ring magazine champion, but don't confuse that distinction with lineage.

Please explain how you get to Virgil Hill being lineal champion?
