  • Comments Thread For: Victor Lupo Shocks Junior Witter in Ontario, Canada

At Hershey Centre in Ontario, Canada, former WBC 140-pound champion Junior Witter (37-4-2, 22 KOs) was upset by unknown Victor Lupo (19-1-2, 9 KOs) in a tren round welterweight bout. Lupo put in the work to get the nod on two of the three official scorecards. On judge had it a draw 95-95, while the others two saw it 96-94 and 97-92 for Lupo. It was Witter's first bout since August 2009 and he was hoping for a big run at 147-pounds. This certainly a huge setback for Witter's career.

It's proof that the general consensus was correct.

That the writing was on the wall when he fought Bradley.

Losing a warm-up comeback fight like this is career threatening. It's been a long time since Witter looked good - maybe the Bradley fight, but even then he lost!
