                If you accept The Ring's declaration of him being heavyweight champ then it is only 4 years. If you accept the traditional method of lineage then he isn't a historical heavyweight champion at all and is merely a belt holder. All other heavyweight champs had to beat the man prior to them or fight the second ranked opponent in the division, Wlad has done neither.

                Should Vitali hang them up soon then Wlad might have the chance to rubber stamp his champion status, but he'll more than likely have to fight Povetkin or rematch Haye.
