Floyd was asked directly about the CW he didnt talk sht about being small his answer was " it will make the job easier " that is straight shooting he is not saying without it he cant win , thats the BS the detractors come with , he still wins but being ever the professional he will take every advantage he can , Canelo shot his mouth off and Floyd called him on it , and Canelo got took the cleaners .
Style make fights, and Canelo is a counterpuncher himself, he didn't have the style and experience to pressure Floyd into submission.

A slower counterpuncher will lose to a faster one getting timed and tagged, that's what happened to Nelo, they thought they could outbox Floyd and fought the wrong fight.

That's where experience comes to mind.

Chavez sr, or Golovkin by an extent (still a better version of a simple slugger like Maidana with ams pedigree), have the style to beat Floyd.

Floyd would beat Canelo right now at 154.

Canelo is a very good fighter but Floyd is on another level to him, plus he's an awful style for Canelo.

Floyd's win over nelo don't get better and better. That's like saying the first guy to beat PACs win gets better and better?

Nelo was green and hadn't beat anyone at that point. Hadn't outpointed anyone any good or hadn't stopped anyone any good

I pity boxing fans like this, that cant see the skill gaps in fights... LMAO thinking two pounds would have given him the skill to win rds vs floyd

First guy to beat Pac , his win does get better because he beat an atg , he will pride himself on that until he dies , thats life the guy didnt beat a bum he beat Manny Pacman .

Floyd beat the undefeated Canelo at a time when you said Canelo would stop him and that he would duck Canelo , now lets go all hypothetical and say Canelo goes on to beat GGG and the winner of Ward Kov and is never beaten again , whether you think so or not Floyds win over him will hold more water being the only fighter to beat him , the more accomplished Canelo becomes the more value it will add to Floyds legacy , thats just real world life .

I personally think Floyd saw that Canelo was the real deal and that waiting another year or two would make the job a lot harder.

I do not think Mayweather, to this day, believes Canelo could beat him.

But, during the last years of his career it's clear he minimized risk as much as he could.

The names are good, but he made sure it was all his way.

Stop with excuses. If Canelo could have made 154 for Smith fight, then 152 had not been a big problem for him 3 years ago.

Floyd just took him to school.

I think we are now seeing that Canelo is in fact the real deal and not just some hype job that Floyd beat which is what makes the win greater. Calling Canelo "green" when he had 40 plus fights and had been a pro 8 years as well as a two time champion just exposes you as a Floyd hater. Historically a 22 to 23 year old fighter was considered prime. Nowadays people say a 23 year old MAN is still a kid mostly just to discredit the wins of fighters they don't like or to make excuses for young men's failures.
