Never below 12, it was primarily a kickboxing gym though. Im sure somebody is out there who trains exclusively in like 8 oz gloves because it makes their fighters "tougher" or something.

Not sparred with but fought with 8oz BenBow that were basically 6oz gloves because the wrist area had a lot of material to protect the wrists. Great gloves and wish they could be used in bouts today. They were hard (horse hair) but made beautifully and the fit was terrific, loved them.
Never saw them used in the States I think only S.A. and Mexico.
