The worst that will happen to Cotto in a fight with Mayweather is he will probably get outpointed by lots of points just as in his first fight with Mayweather. If Cotto fights Canelo or GGG I think he gets knocked out and retires.

In their first fight, Mayweather weighed in @151 lbs, his heaviest ever. That was a SWW fight. Cotto weighted 154 lbs. It's obvious that Cotto wants to have the weight advantage in a rematch, this time for his MW title. It's been said that Mayweather has trouble coming in over 150 lbs. No way does he agree to fight Cotto @ 155 lbs. Cotto has no pull whatsoever when it comes to dictating terms in a Mayweather match. Fuhgeddaboudit!

How is cotto making more money fighting Mayweather than Canelo? Mayweather guarantee will only leave cotto no more than maybe 2-2.5 million with ppv %. While he could get the majority% against Canelo while having HBO pump up the fight..

Floyd isn't the golden ticket as far as the $$$$ for an opponent. Pac opponents have gotten more money fighting him than Floyd since he signed that Sho Ppv deal.

Time for Cotto to vacate or be stripped !

I can imagine the influx of flow-MOs
Celebrating that Floyd captured a MW title at a catchweight and justifying it like an actual real, accomplishment !

No thanks make at the full 160 if not drop the belt Cotto!

Cotto will get paid at least what he got paid last time which was 8 million not counting PPV. The fight did 1.5 million FFS, it doubled Maidan's number which would make them plenty of money.

The lion share of what? Are you crazy Canelo makes easily 15-30 million fight a Mayweather he max out at no more than 12 fighting Canelo.

Yeah that was pushed by HBO ppv and Floyd didn't have that 30 million dollar guarantee. They aint paying that plus another 8 for cotto. This fight won't get the numbers as the first, especially if cotto looks vulnerable Saturday.

«also how much did maidana make on the rematch? 1-2 million right?«

Canelo was undefeated, and for that the buys were high along with a anticipated co feature. Post Pac vs May, this fight with cotto won't come close to the first fight of theirs, let alone canelo numbers with Floyd.

Only big$$$$ for cotto is against canelo. More of a toss up fight which he'll atleast get 50/50 or 55/45 split..

He fights Canelo the only ppl ordering is Mexicans Puerto Ricans and hard core boxing fans. He fight floyd you still have the Mexicans Puerto Ricans hard core boxing fans casual the haters and the urban/hood demographic. Cotto v. Canelo is a better fight on paper. But fighting Money makes you paper.
