The 1990's is easily the greatest decade for movies.

    Fight Club
    Pulp Fiction
    Schindler's List
    Forrest Gump
    Brave Heart
    Silence of the Lambs
    The Matrix
    American Beauty
    The Shawshank Redemption
    Boyz N The Hood
    The Usual Suspects
    Casino
    Goodfellas
    Saving Private Ryan
    Good Will Hunting
    Jurassic Park
    The Big Libowski
    Reservoir Dogs
    Fargo

That's just off the top of my head

        Ghostbusters
        The Lost Boys
        Back to the Future
        Raiders of the Lost Ark
        Empire Strikes Back
        First Blood
        Robocop
        Gremlins
        The Goonies
        Nightmare on Elm Street
        Predator
        Aliens
See No Evil, Hear No Evil
        ET
        Raging Bull
        Blade Runner
        Terminator
        Who Framed Roger Rabbit

I'm very partial to the 70s, myself. The 80s were pretty ****in' awesome, as well, but it's hard to argue with the decade that pretty much reinvented cinema. All that **** you like from the 80s? Yeah, the groundwork was laid in the 70s.

70's and 90's. 80's was too full of trendy bs (much like 00's) without much substance. I might have to give 90's an edge because of the availible technology, they were able to push the envelope a but further (Jurassic Park, Independence Day, Matrix) even if the movies that employed them weren't the greatest.

Some other 90's movies not mentioned
                    Schindler's List
                    Shawshank Redemption
                    Pulp Fiction
                    Good Fellas
                    Se7en
                    Silence of the Lambs

Although, I think the 40's is regarded as having the most "best of all time" movies
