  • What a complete hypocrit Roy was last night...

He was basically ragging on Williams the whole night about punches he was taking with comments like "this fight is taking years of Paul's life" and saying he is glad Paul is retiring shortly.

Why doesn't he apply the same thinking to his own career when he is the one being stopped brutally multiple times?.

    Roy on Paul Williams:

"Sometimes people like him become a worst nightmare to his own self because he won't stop".

this should've been good therapy for roy though, seeing another fighter get beat up like that right in front of his lap. he's seen a lot of that stuff during his many stints on the mic but never have i seen roy talk like that before and i don't think it was a "rag" on williams.

Roy was NEVER hit with the SAME dam punch over and over and over in a fight....so when he saw this happening to Paul he became alarmed and instantly without knowing started to take off his commentary hat and start rocking his "big bro" hat....Roy has ALWAYS been one to worry about the damage taken in the ring....Roy had problems seeing G-Man in his state...so do the math...Roy is a genuine dude with a genuine heart....he gotta retire though!!

Yes he was, BUT that doesn't stop him from being 100% right.

He's actually right and there is a difference. Doctors have proven that sustained punishment over the course of a longer fight, as opposed to a one punch knockout, has far worse long term effect and long term damage on a fighter. This is mma's claim to fame when it come to this subject and they are right as well.

agreed. atleast williams is still fighting the best guys out there and being competetive, making good money in the process.

roy is getting knocked out by everything with a heartbeat for loose change.

In what fight was Roy Jones Jr in his last 3 or 4 bouts was he getting hit like Williams was last night?

The problem with Roy Jones is, once he get it flush on the chin or temple, no matter what the power, he's falling down like a ton of bricks.
