Its hilarious how people talk about Joe Louis and make comparisons to him as though he didn't fight 80 or so years ago. Boxing then was primitive and a sluggard's game. It was nowhere near as advanced as it is today and Wlad would have destroyed every fighter from that period with his style, and not to mention Louis was only 6'2.

His era may be weak in the eyes of some but so was Joe Louis', Larry Holmes, and Rocky Marciano's era.....dude has beaten all the worthy opponents of his era and has shown the ability to comeback after big losses. I have to say he is on the cusp, there is no one really left for him to fight. He is for sure a hall of famer

HW'S of yesteryear were defined by 185lb marciano, 205lb frazier, 195lb dempsey etc prime foreman was 6'3" 218lb (same as thomasz adamek) and considered huge, Ezzard charles fought at HW around the 170lb mark!! Wladimir is a look at the future, a new breed....comparing 185lb marciano or 200lb louis to the klitschkos is silly! They are not american, nor will they pop up in your old timers lists! The nostalgia brigade like to comvince themselves the klitschkos don't belong alongside i.e jack johnson or jack dempsey etc They are right! The brothers (although not perfect) are leagues ahead of them...they are incredible specimens/athletes that shatter myths and records with each passing year, they are the first of many eastern european hw greats to come too, you watch!!

And for all those saying the klitschkos never fought anyone or there opponents are/were so bad then what does that make:

Povetkin, wlad, chagaev, solis does anyone have the time to count all those gold medals? Come on...We all know a motivated povetkin, an in shape solis, chagaev (who beat american conqueror felix savon twice) southpaw ibragimov, slickster byrd, or american prospect kingpin johnson would slot well into any era let alone the klitschkos!

The klitschkos disqualify themselves because they work as a tag team; fighting half the competition while ducking each other.

Champs of yesteryear didnt have the luxury of a 6'7 sibling to help them out. They had to take on an entire division 1-10 on their own.

Joe Louis didnt need a Jerry Louis to dominate for 12 years. Thats why he will always be greater.

Klitschkos have a Phd, (hold world honours in kickboxing) are fluent in five languages, chess masters, members of the magic circle lol and donate milions to charity. They are the perfect professional, role model and athlete for aspiring fighters to look up to (a credit to the sport!) not to mention they hold all the belts in boxing, have dominated a division for a decade, barely ever lose a round and have only 5 defeats between them...

Its nice they play chess and have charities But as boxers they will not be in discussions 80 years from now.

-Joe Louis absolutely dominated the HWD by himself and held the UNDISPUTED crown for well over a decade.

-Marciano went undefeated through his entire career posting the highest KO ratio of all time.

-Lennox avenged all his losses himself, virtually defeating EVERY opponent he ever faced.

-George Foreman has 68 KOs and was 6 years older than Vitali is now when he held a title.

And they did this SOLO! The Klitschkos combined can not replicate the feats of the gentlemen above and thats pathetic.
