cotto is just not a eliite fighter yet, he is on the cusp. but he gets hit to much and swings too wide. and at this level you can not let top notch athletes hit an average on 20-35 times a round and expect to obtain the title of undisputed champion and last long, margarito just prove that.
When you got fighters who have the power to hurt you and knock you out.

    Cotto
    1. Swings wide,
    2. Waste Punches,
    3. Cant stop straight right hands or uppercuts,
    4. and is under progressing in the lateral movement department.

For me what makes a fighter a great boxer is not just going in thier just slugging it out in a 'see who falls first' scenario.
It is seeing some real skill and artistry in the ring.

Cotto has all the potential in the world. But he hasnt reach it yet.

This is why I stop placing my Champion standards on Cotto. Because to me he is not a real enough champion for me to place these kind of standards on. because he never beat a champion. He always fights for vacant titles.
IMO, Fighting for a vacant title is fine if you do it rarely. But if the only time
you win a title is against a contender for a vacant belt. Then i see it as cheating the game of boxing. Because the fighter is not willing to fight the champion for that belt or go find a champion and take his belt. But instead
That fighter is taking the easy route to become a champion.

This is nothing new with me, I been like this from day 1.
( CHECK MY THREAD HISTORY) I has always had a problem with Cotto doing this, Just because he has not done it the traditional way.

Cotto is becoming a "vargas" to me now. He is just another name in the pack... I am starting to not take the guy seriously anymore...

And To clear up the air.
There is a difference between Criticism.
    and Just Hating..

I do not blately Hate on Cotto
    I criticize him.

The only time I might Blately hate on Cotto is when I am obliviously trying to
make a point. About Hypocrisy i see on here.

The difference is Criticism is a where somebody points out the problem, and fellow it up with a possible answer..

Hating is just Pointing out problems with No constructive answer to follow up
    your compliant.

    I never say Cotto Sucks
I never say Cotto doesnt has the most potential in all of boxing
I never say cotto is not probably the best ww out of all the ww's because of his intangible's.
I never say Cotto is a fraud
I never say Cotto is a ***** for no reason.
    - I did get on him for not going out on his shield like most of his fans demand other fighters do.

What I do is say, Cotto wastes punches, Cotto cant defend the straight right Hand, Cotto is vulnerable to uppercuts, Cotto defense hasnt improved much he still makes the same mistakes....,Cotto is not a draw like tito was, even though he has the same fan base, Cotto is not taking enough control of his career And Making the fights he wants public.

Thats is not Hating that is pointing out a obvious. It's called Criticism.

    This is Hating:
    Cotto ****ing sucks dick
Cotto is a bum. (no explanation..)

I dont blatey hate on Cotto.
I criticize him because, Everybody wants to make him something he is not.
And that is a Validated Great Fighter.

He is still trying to make a name for himself at this point of his career,
when he should be focusing on validating himself at this point of his career.
    • What is Cotto's Legacy? at 28 years old and almost 9 years into his career?
    • Is Cotto going to the Hall of Fame if he retire today?
    • Can you rarely Compare Cotto to all time great fighters at this point in Cotto's career?
    • Why Should Cotto be Place in the category of a validated great fighter base on what he has done... ?
    • What Fight Make Cotto a great Fighter?

This is Criticism, These are Valid Questions....
and At this Point of Cotto's Career he has more Questions than Answers.

The funny thing is, He can still answer all of these Questions...
but The Recent Career move by Cotto fighting for another VACANT title. When the person who own that title wanted to fight Him before he vacated is STUPID.

When is cotto going to understand that fighting for vacant titles is not
making his situation better, but worst. Because THOSE FIGHTS ARE NOT VALIDATING HIM. BUT RAISING QUESTIONS ABOUT HIM.
wow i try my hardest to read...but suddenly it all becomes one big haze of blablabla

The Ring's titles are all you need to pay attention to. I'm a firm believer that their champions are the only true champions

Marg may still beat Cotto again, but I ain't as dead set on that as I was before he took all that punishment from SSM.

*BTW, I was honestly quite impressed Horus made it thru his first long winded post in this thread without mentioning PBF. But sure enuf, he just couldn't help himself in the next one. You'll get there one day Horus. I got faith in you homey.
