  • Worse? Ward drain Dawson, Pacquiao drain De La Hoya/Cotto, Mayweather drain Canelo..

    Or Froch draining Hopkins?

    ---

Ward drained Dawson down from 175 to 168.

Pacquiao drained De La Hoya down from 154 to 147 (he weighed in at 145 due to problems with rehydration.)

Pacquiao drained Cotto down to a 145 catchweight (his standard weight at the time was 147)

    ---

    Future weight-draining candidates

Carl Froch says he'll only meet Hopkins at a catchweight below his usual 175 - the weight is yet to be determined (as far as I know).

Mayweather Sr. has said that Mayweather Jr will only face Canelo at 147 (his usual weight is 154).

Are they all equally as bad, are they all equally justifiable, or is one fighter worse than the rest?

Ward over Dawson easy. I saw that knockout coming from a mile away.

De La Hoya was the stupid one who drained himself, not Pac's fault.

Oscar wanted the fight at 147.
      Dawson challenged Ward at 168.
Hopkins challenged Froch at a CW.

Floyd is however a champion at 154.

DLH called out a LW, wanted the fight at 147. Cotto who usually weighs in at 146 was not gonna be weigh drained at 145.

Mayweather-Canelo hasn't happened, and when it does it'll be at 154.

Dawson called Ward out at 168

Pacquiao didn't drain Oscar... Pacquiao jumped from 135lbs to 147lbs to fight a 5 foot 11 154lber... Oscar WILLINGLY agreed to come down to 147.

Ward didn't drain Dawson... Dawson said himself, weight is no problem, and that he wanted to win a title in another weight class... Dawson WANTED to fight at 168.

Cotto was coming in at 146lbs before the Pac fight, and Cotto AGREED to fight at 145lbs... and Pac whoops him the same at any weight.

This thread is dumb as hell.

No one drained anyone! The contracts were accepted so thats that! Get over the weight BS its only an issue to fans!
Dawson could have said no, he actually wanted the weight so why blame anyone but him?
Weight has become an "excuse" not to fight someone. Mayweather wins a 154 title but won't fight Canelo, fine he has fear of Canelo.
The federations had more power years ago to match the contenders against the champs but once the "junior BS titles" were accepted fighter gave up titles when it came to their manditory bouts because there was other BS titles to wear!

Henry Armstrong fought anyone from 130 to 175 and won! Because he was better than the other guy! Weight counts in reastlin' not boxing unless the smaller guy doesn't have more talent & skills than the bigger guy!

Do you really think that Mayweather can't beat the 50th ranked Middleweight?
You saw Roy Jones beat Heavies that doidn't have matching skills, its nothing new that a solid lil man can beat and average big man! Its about Talent!!

As many people have already said Pacquiao didn't drain ****

Oscar tried to cherrypick a sleeping dragon and got retired

Pac had huge balls to even think about doing that

Me too, as soon as that fight was announced at 168 I predicted that Dawson would be a sitting duck in that fight and that he'd probably get knocked out by Ward.

                    Floyd draining Canelo
                    1. he holds a title at 154
                    2. beating a drained version of Canelo will get him zero credit
                    3. he's a hypocrit based on past statements (Wanted Cotto at his best weight, criticized Pacquiao for draining opponents)
