ipad air will netflix n movies be 1536 hd

I am getting the iPad air but I have never seen how Netflix or the iTunes movies will look on it will they be 1536 resolution or is that just going to be for the background n the display will the movies n Netflix be 1080 n not 1536 I've tried everywhere n no luck on answer plzz help
