  • What about JMM vs Diego Chaves?

Forget the Cotto bout. Let's just make it easier... I think HBO could benefit from this comeback bout from either one. Assume Marquez beats Chaves then perhaps Rios' return after his comeback bout?

If Vargas were to beat Brook, can they give Marquez a final shot to a title before calling it quits?

    HBO Boxing "Latino" esstyle.

Marquez is looking for a cash out fight. He's saying only at 147 but not calling out any welterweights.

I know bro, and I hate to say, I don't think Marquez could beat any top 5 Welterweight now.

This is why the conservative pickings for Diego Chaves or Brandon Rios seems perfect for broke ass HBO. Alvarado got schooled by Marquez and by Rios in their last trilogy. A Marquez vs rios bout.. I mean if Marquez knocks out Rios earlier than what Bradley could do, and then what would that mean about Marquez' power vs Pac at 147 since Pac couldnt finish Rios. What does that say about Pac and Bradley after such a long layoff?

I think Marquez vs Rios or Chaves gives HBO some good strategic programming

Both a Chaves or a Rios fight are trash. It's clear Marquez is looking for one last payday. A win over either one of those fighters won't net him the money he is looking for, nor will they do anything to enhance his resume as Chaves is pretty much a gatekeeper and Rios is done.

The Cotto fight wasn't even interesting imo. You have a 40+ year old Marquez who hasn't fought in over 2 years, coming off knee surgery just to collect a paycheck. None of that sounds like a recipe for anything exciting, just a guy cashing out.

Wasn't it team Cotto that knocked on Marquez's door for the bout?

HBO could easily sell Marquez vs Rios. Everybody knows Pac vs Marqyez series. All HBO gotta do is show clips of Pac vs Rios, Marquez vs Alvarado, and Alvarado vs Rios.

As corny as it may seem, if he knocks out Rios, why wouldn't HBO entice Marquez vs Bradley 2? Bradley beat Rios and imo Chaves.

Seems like an easy narrative for HBO, and Marquez vs Bradley 2 should do good numbers. Better than Salido vs Vargas

right now Marquez gets beat by all top fighters from 140-154, Cotto stops him with ease now, Bradley would probably stop him now, Chaves might even stop him, but Rios don't stand a chance lol
