Above is the reason why Roach predicted Pacquiao would KO Hatton inside 3 rounds. The Irish southpaw using right hooks, Magee, knocked Hatton down in the first round and if it wasn't for the hometown ref, Hatton would have been KO'd in round 2. Hatton, a converted southpaw, is at a stylicatic disadvantage against right hooks and straight lefts. It's no wonder he was exposed by Magee and Collazo by those very two same weapons, and KO'd by Mayweather with a left hook.

Roach chose Cotto because he was stunned by Judah's straight left and was stunned by Corley's right hook, and stunned BADLY. He's damaged goods after Margarito and he feeds right into Pac's two best weapons... The straight left and right hook. Cotto has no D for those two punches. He's at a disadvantage stylistically due to him being a converted southpaw just like Oscar and Hatton, which is not enough to overcome his slight size advantage. 145 is not his normal fighting weight the past couple years anyway.

He'll perform "better" than the weight drained corpse of Oscar, but his career is almost over and this is the easiest fight styistically for Pacquiao at the WW level.

Pacquiao is exposed by the straight right hand. He lost to Morales and arguably lost to Marquez twice. Not to mention he had been hurt and knocked down by right hands in his career. This is why they chose Cotto over Mosley or Mayweather because their weapon is Pac's poison. Pacquiao vs Cotto should be called "Cotto's right hand vs Pacquiao's left." The outcome is obvious!

Roger Mayweather was asked about Cotto. His reply was, "He's the same damn fighter as Oscar, they both have no right hand".

Roach's comment on Oscar was, "Beristain won't be able to improve his right hand, he can tie his right hand behind his back, it's useless!"

I agree, TS said Cotto is the weakest link at WW and his points were right on the MONEY. Cotto was weakened at 145, clearly washed up, and mentally and physically ruined after Margarito. Add in the fact that Pacquiao was stylistically at an advantage, and you get what we saw last night. Pacquiao had every advantage he could have got, and 5lbs size difference wasn't going to make up for it.

Excellent post by TS. He predicted the fight just as it went. I'm sure his prediction on Mayweather vs Pacquiao will be correct as well.

you sir are very observant.......well done.....this is exactly what i have been saying re Hatton, Oscar and Cotto. You get extra point for coming up with this analysis before the cotto fight took place.

Lefties are bad for Mayweather, just watch the fights and you'll see.

You're missing the point entirely. Judah landed a few straight left's on Floyd, but Floyd always pulled his head back to take the steam out of the punches, and then he adjusted and slipped them. Pacquiao has been hurt constantly by right hands and punished by Morales and Marquez.

Mayweather's straight right hand vs Pacquiao's left. It's laughable to even compare! Pacquiao is FAR more vulnerable to right hands than Floyd is to straight lefts.

I agree he is susceptible.....but more so when moving forward......he essentialy walked Judah down and did the same with Corley and Mitchell.....they traded shots at close range.....you are right though...he got hit with some good shots by Corely and Mitchell...shots he usually does not take......i doubt he will fight Manny the same way he did these 3 guys though......he has shown he likes to be agressive when facing southpaws...but with Mannys come forwardf style i think floyd will be happy to use his feet going back and side to side....Manny coming forward will take some of the advantage from being a lefty away......I also see the large reach disparity being a problem for Manny, given floyds renowned capabilities at controlling distance.........

Damn i want to seee this fight!!!!
