to be fair hearn is a slime ball that lies at every angle......so u mentioning hearn is like mentioning A bribing arum in his prime for numbers.

also the HBO numbers is what matters because golovkin primarily fights on HBO he doesn't have the U.K. crowd in the grand scheme of things.

You want HBO boxing to have a bigger budget? Simple. Get the audience.
No. This is the result of HBO lowering their budget.

when they realize this fact, and stop being stubborn, then he will have his stardom and legacy cemented

their is no easy route to that level...hype only gets you so far

The idea that Golovkin is a huge star or the next big star or whatever is a myth. Like I said, he's a hardcore sensation. Nothing more, nothing less. He's never gonna be that massive of a star.

I'm genuinely puzzled as to why purported boxing fans are glad that boxing's most hyped (fairly or unfairly) star is getting low viewing figures.

Boxing is in the doldrums in the US and that's being charitable. If you are hoping that another Mayweather (maybe Spence) comes along good for you but he caused a hell of a lot of problems as boxing ended up centred around him. Boxing would be much healthier if PBC were doing great business, HBO, Showtime and ESPN were going strong and great fighters up and down the scale were getting a strong fan base.
Instead we have Pac lumbering on, fighters still calling out Mayweather, Canelo being poorly marketed and advised by GBP, great fighters (Rigo, Ward) getting less sales than 'Smurfs On Ice Christmas Special', etc etc.
Boxing is now Mexican, British, German, Philipino and Chinese.
Anyone think HBO is going to stay in boxing long? Anyone think PBC is going to be a media leviathan in five years time? Is ESPN going to be showing fights?
Would a casual person in the street recognise Wilder or Spence?

But hey, hahaha GGG can't get viewers. Let's laugh while US boxing withers.

I'm not mad he can't get good views. Put on competitive fights. No one wants to see him knocking out ****ing welterweight and no hopers. And then HBO has the nerve to not wanna approve better fights? So no. I don't care his numbers or HBO numbers overall suck. They should suck.

It'll force them to put on better fights and stop wasting money on mismatches. Good numbers fighting bums gives them no incentive to put on competitive fights.

So Golovkin got 843k live, then 755k on the replay. Still ****s on Jacobs/Mora doing ~550k despite being on 'free-tv'.

But I am disappointed, I was hoping for an improvement over the Murray fight (862k). The 20k drop is insignificant, essentially means no improvement on the brand. If I'm Nelson/Loeffler, I say leverage a deal with Jacobs/Haymon to let their fight go on NBC/CBS/FOX. Give Golovkin a chance to increase his exposure.

It's sounding imminent that Golovkin/Saunders is happening next, so we'll get a quick turn-around comparison on these afternoon numbers.

That US only. Like someone mentioned, Hearn said it did over 500k buys in UK (but less than the record 900k set by Froch/Groves).

Loeffler said they had a new deal with German tv going into this fight. The last time for the Murray fight they did 2.3 million viewers in Germany and 740k in the UK (on free-tv Ch.5). The Murray fight also did 6.1 million viewers in Mexico.

Here's all the tv networks listed for the fight:
United Kingdom SKY Box Office, USA HBO, Latin America: Canal Space, Poland PolSat Sport HD, Panama RPC Channel 4, Hungary Sport 2, Mexico Azteca, New Zealand Sky Arena, Australia FOX
