Thats what makes floyds defense so effective against the conventional stance. Your right hand isin danger of hitting floyd in the back and you'll be penalized.. so you end up needing a good front hand, or be southpaw. Because your power hand is useless or else you're penalized.

Mike wouldnt have cared. Proof of this was in sparring with Mccall (vids may still be up) McCall tried to stop the work numerous times, and even left the ring during a session because Mike kept hitting him in his back and hip, he kept complaining.
    Thanks I'll check the vids!

the way to beat a defensive slickster is to swarm relentlessly. Tyson would've KOed Floyd at the same weight.

Look what ATG Castillo did and we all know he punches harder than Mike P4P.
Michael Spinks was not a defensive fighter, he was awkward and his defense was very good but that doesn't means he was a defensive boxer ala Mayweather or Locche which is what the OP is asking.

Spinks is a poor example for this especially considering he was past it.

      ATG ?, Castillo ?.

I think it's difficult to judge match ups saying 'what if so and so was this weight how would he fare against so and so'

Because were talking away a huge part of Tyson's game which is sheer strength and power.

There is no way of judging how he would fare against someone at 147 because we simply don't know how Mike would be at 147.

Mike Tyson was often against fighters who tried to outbox him. Albeit they weren't great fighters but they were solid fighters and he always destroyed them.

He was very good at cutting off the ring.

Mike's main issue was fighting people who weren't afraid of him and would hold there own against him. Mike had a real problem with this mentally.
