Bethlehem, PA—Powerful junior middleweight contender King Gabriel Rosado, of Philadelphia, PA, says he should be the one to fight Saul Canelo Alvarez in September.

“Let Canelo step up to the plate and fight a real man,” Rosado said after his impressive ninth-round knockout over world-ranked Sechew Powell, of Brooklyn, NY, on Friday night at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.

IfAlvarez ends up fighting Kirkland in September, would not mind seeing Trout/Rodriguez winner vs. Rosado in September. Than, the winners could fight in December.

Or he could fight K9 in September and fight Trout in December. That would be badass if he were to hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles at his age.

having beat matthew hatton, trout/rodriguez, and bundrage/spinks
        is NOT impressive...
        titles are meaningless.

To a certain extent but their obviously building a showdown with Mayweather down tge road. If Alvarez goes into that fight as the undisputed champ at 154 that's a huge selling point. Plus he would have beaten 2 of the top 10 ranked fighters in the division.

That was a great finish in that fight. It would've been a ko instead of a tko if Smoger did a 10 count. But who cares it was a great end of a pretty good fight.
Rosado deserves a shot a title now, but so does Molina and he's been waiting awhile already.

I think that's a little unfair on Alvarez. He's 21 and if he could get 3 of the titles, that would be a great achievement. Then he'll HAVE to fight good fighters for the mandatory defences. I'd rather see a Lara fight too to be fair, but what's the rush? He's so young. I don't think titles are meaningless.

Then again, maybe he won't want to fight those guys. He's been calling Cotto and Mayweather out for ages, so maybe he won't be interested in k9. The Trout fight is ok too IMO. Not as good as P-Will, Kirkland or Lara... but it's aight.

Good KO by Rosado. But I don't see Canelo fighting him. The 5 losses probably won't sell too well on PPV. Better to fight K9 as people know him from the Contender and he has a title.

Rosado is a good fighter but a guy who cant last 2 rounds with Angulo and gets outboxed by Derek Ennis isnt beating Canelo. No shot.

I respect Rosado for bouncing back in his career but I have absolutely no interest in him fighting Canelo, he's not that durable and still has holes in his defense.

canelo COULDNT come into a mayweather fight as the "undisputed champion" if you recall FLOYD is the WBA champ(after he beat cotto).
