The reason why he lost, to me, was that he wasnt physically fit enough to last the distance on the night. He was gassing in round 6, if I recall right, despite outboxing Joe, and then got outworked badly. Again, Kessler can only blame himself for his sloppy conditioning.

Credit to him for giving Froch a rematch though, he didnt need to.
Kessler and his promotor knew that they wouldn't get Calzaghe in the ring if they made the injury public. They opted to go for the payday (5M) which in retrospect perhaps was not wise.

On the other hand Calzaghe's promotor Warren lost a truckload of cash on that promotion.

Calzaghe dominated prime Kessler, he was a different class altogether. Would have loved to see a prime Calzaghe Vs Ward, hard to call.

You are talking out your ass or diddent even see the fight.

Calzaghe vs kessler was a close fight, kessler was rocking calzaghe with uppercuts that hurt calzaghe in the fourth and sevend round, and kessler was headhunting cvalzaghe in the 12 round like the fight was just started.

It was as close as calzaghe vs hopkins minus the knockdown IMO

And dont forget Calzaghe was also at his absolut peak in the kessler fight

You have to actually earn a rematch. Crying like a ***** and making excuses after decisively dropping 8 rounds don't qualify you as a deserving rival.

Kessler made a dumb decision fighting Calzaghe if he was injured.

Please, Calzaghe won 8 rounds to 4 and busted Kessler's face up. The fight had some close rounds but Calzaghe clearly dominated the fight overall.

Calzaghe didn't owe Kessler a rematch
he beat him clearly, then challenged for the LHW title after
Kessler owes Froch a rematch, thought Froch won that fight close
and outside of Denmark, Kessler won't be so lucky in a rematch
got Froch by UD again when they do the 2nd fight
