Manny has beaten some of the best fighters of our generation by K.O, how can that not be GOAT material?
He is a great fighter but a goat,he still has a long way to go,maybe if he could beat pwill or another few of the big wws the catchweights dont help either.

would u put him in the running if he beats marquez a 3rd time and has 2 or 3 fights with mayweather?

top 10 at the most only if he beats marquez at 140 & wins out a trilogy vs mr. counterfeit cash.

he has to fight more than 2x a year & go back down to 135 clean house get some belts defend, go up to 140 clean house get belts defend, go up to 147 clean house get belts defend,

then we can start arguing vs robinson.

until then, if he beats marquez & mr. counterfeit cash then retires top 10 at the very highest.

Well the argument isnt that he will be the GOAT. its that he's GOAT material.

Like i've already said in this thread...muhammad ali is 2nd or 3rd on everyone's goat list with only 61 fights which Pacquiao will only be 6 fights off after fighting Cotto. I think it's just having him in the top 10 or even top 5 fits the category....but to not have him in the conversation at all when discussing the GOAT would be a crime against boxing when it's all said and done.

im not really a fan of ATG rankings but heres my 2 cents on the topic...

sugar ray leonard had beaten all there was to defeat during his time (except maybe pryor/mccallum) but he is still nowhere near SRR in any credible ATG rankings ive seen... he is outside the top 10 in IBRO for example...

& mr. leonard had beaten his more highly regarded foes in more difficult circumstances than manny has...

duran... hagler... hearns... benitez... all on their primes/near primes...

as he now stands, MP is somehow in the vicinity of JCC & azumah nelson IMO...
