  • The Last Time American Beat Cuban in Olympics

when was the last time it happened?

SRL did it in '76 then Floyd became the first American to beat a Cuban in 20 years.

If Shakur pulls this off vs Ramirez, it's a major tell of potential greatness

Rooting for Ramirez but yes if shakur wins without controversy it would be impressive cuz Ramirez is one bad dude.

David Reid in 96 was the last time an American won a gold with a win over a Cuban in the finals, you're right it must be a sign of greatness.

Shakur better hope he doesn't beat Ramirez cuz it didn't turn out all that well for Reid in the pros. Lol

Its the cuban curse lose to them and you'll go on to greatness but win and end up as an average pro.

They decided to throw him in asap because he was already having eye trouble. It was probably always going to end that way for him sadly. The Tito fight might have sped up the process, but it was already there, so maybe it didn't and that was his best chance. Sad either way.
