  • Andre Ward won Gold at 178 then moved down to 160!

For all you guys making excuses because you picked wrong Andre Ward himself dropped down in weight and was successful among others. STOP MAKING EXCUSES! because :gay:

Apparently, even Chad saying that the weigh was OK isn't enough. Haters are in for a long trip if they think they can keep denying Ward. The guy isn't losing anytime soon. No more, "He hasn't fought anyone meaningful" excuse either.

I mean the fact that Ward did the exact same thing successfully is lost on these guys. It all comes down to them being wrong about Dawson and not being able to accept it. They can't even bring themselves to click on this thread because it kills their whole theory. Ignorance is bliss

Like i told you in another thread, some fighters can make a certain weight and some can`t.It depends on the fighters body type.Ward is much skinnier then Dawson so ofcourse he can fight at super middle with no problem.

amateurs and professional are different. 3 rounds with headgear or 12 rounds without headgear. furthermore why didnt Ward move up to 175 if he fought at that weight before?? instead he decided to weight drain him and kill Dawson. furthermore Andre Ward didnt fight at lightheavyweight in the amateurs because lightheavyweight was his natural weight back then, cause it was not. he did it cause his cousin DonYil Livingston fought at middleweight. they were both middleweights but they decided to change weight classes so they wouldnt have to fight each other.

Ward got dropped a few times at 160 and said he struggled to make the weight.

You just used his owned stupid thread against him. Also in a interview last year or this year before Dawson called Ward out,Ward said that he was considering fighting for a light-heavyweight belt at a catch-weight but when Dawson asked him for a catch-weight he declined.

                here is the proof: http://www.********boxing.com/weblog...p=28611&more=1
                I quote:
When Andre won the Gold Medal in the light heavyweight division he was really a middleweight. He had made a pact with his cousin DonYil Livingston that they wouldn’t fight in the same weight class. So DonYil Livingston qualified at 165 and Andre moved up to give him an opportunity at 165.
so-when Andre Ward went down to 160 at the beginning of his pro career, he did it cause it was his natural weight back then. Dawson is not a natural 168 pounder right now, he is one of the biggest 175 pounders I ever saw. So he kills himself to go down that one weight class

Amateur system is way different. THe weigh ins are same day, a couple of hours before their fights

Most fighters box pro at a lighter weight than amatuer due to amateurs having to be at the weight all season plus weigh in on the night unlike the pros were they rehydrate . I bet ward weighed at least 175 on the night . Ward would of won regardless if it was at sm or lh but the weight loss wouldn't of helped Dawson
