Perez coming out, looking to jab and set up shots. Darchinyan trying to back Perez up, head-hunting and landing a big left hand that wobbles Perez momentarily. Perez lands a left and a right in return after taking it easier. Then, landing a solid left hook. Both men still looking for their angles.Darchinyan throwing the straighter shots thus far, with Perez looping his shots. A solid left hand almost lands flush for Vic, but Perez partially blocks it. A looping left hook for Darchinyan lands, then a two punch combination finds the mark as well for Vic. Perez still looking for his angles. A body shot for Perez finds the mark but a short left hand lands for Vic in return. Then a left hook for Vic lands. Vic measuring Perez, trying to hand the big shot.

Round: Vic Darchinyan, 10-9.

ROUND 2:
Two big shots for Vic land to start the round, then a slick uppercut drops Perez. Now, Darchinyan looking to measure Perez with a jab. A big uppercut wobbles Perez once again. Darchinyan still chasing Darchinyan. Perez against the ropes, Darchinyan firing off shots. Perez still throwing back, but he looks flat. A right hand for Perez lands. Then another. A right hand for Darchinyan lands in return. A little right for Perez lands as he tries to get his legs back. Perez now making Darchinyan miss a few times, slipping shots. Another uppercut grazes, then a bi shot hurts Perez again. Perez holds on and ends the round on his feet.

Round: Vic Darchinyan, 10-8.
20-17, Vic Darchinyan.

ROUND 3:
Perez looks to have his legs back and he's trying to work off a decent jab. Letting his hands go a bit now, landing two solid shots and lefts from Vic seem to be blocked a bit more. Perez missing with two left hooks. Darchinyan measuring with the jab, Perez landing a few solid shots. Perez, moving forward as Darchinyan backs up for the first time. An overhand right for Perez lands. Three punch combination for Vic lands, but Perez fires back with two shots of his own. A big right for Perez misses over the top. A right downstairs lands for Perez but not huge. Perez goes back off balance but is fine. A straight right for Perez lands and Vic goes to the body twice. Three shots for Vic land and Perez is taking some big shots. Perez cuffs him in close and stops the action until a break. A body shot for Perez lands. 1-2 for Vic misses and then he smothers Perez to end the round.

ROUND 4:
Uppercut for Darchinyan mostly lands. A right for Perez misses the mark. A straight right now lands for Perez. Perez to the body with a left. A right hook for Perez misses. Darchinyan not throwing much to start this round. A couple clubbing shots for Perez land, then a sneaky uppercut finds the mark. A nice right hand lands. Three punch combination for Vic comes back and then he digs to the body. Perez comes back and lands a left hook. A big shot for Vic stuns Perez, but Perez seems to take it well. A right hand for Perez comes up just short. A left down the middle for Vic is blocked. A short right hook for Perez lands but Vic takes it well. Solid left hook for Vic finds the mark. Perez comes back up top and then to the body. Perez landing a bit more and Vic seems to be throwing one punch at a time. Big right hand for Vic lands, then a left hand that comes in straight. Perez taking the punches well but gettin outlanded.

Round: Vic Darchinyan, 10-9.
40-35, Vic Darchinyan.

ROUND 5:
The fifth frame starts out a bit slower, but Darchinyan is throwing a landing a bit more. Perez taking them well but not landing much. A headbutt causes a gash over the left eye of Perez. Perez seems bothered and frustrated with it. The doctor checks it and waves the fight off. The fight is over.

Damnit. Likely winner, Vic Darchinyan.

This was unfortunate. I expected Perez to turn it on later in this fight.
