    ... of all time?

Take for example Mayweather jr not fighting pacman etc, or lennox lewis not fighting a prime tyson, bowe, or holyfield

Well it may be due to ducking or it may not be the fighters fault, but either way if you dont fight and beat the best in your era in their primes then the greats from other eras have already beaten you because they have already beaten the best in their era without ducking or avoiding the other big threats though misfortune or calculating cowardice.

    here..........

Ali left no doubt as to who was the best

Sugar Ray Robisson left no doubt as to who was the best

Lennox lewis left plenty of doubt

Mayweather will leave doubt since pacman may already be passed it.

There is the idea that avoiding the best of your era till they are past prime or in total is the smart thing to do, but is it really? Doesn't it just disqualify you from being the best of all time since there is still doubt in your own era let alone in the eras of yesteryear.

Thats not ducking thats standing up like a man for what you believe in, and doing it despite massive political and social pressure. Standing up and not ducking doesn't get more personified than with Muhammad Ali.

boxing is no different than any other sport. just like a college football team could go undefeated and get left out of the BCS due to their weak schedule. being undefeated doesn't mean much if you didn't fight the guys you needed to fight.

It depends who are the "best" in fans eyes.

Like Margarito is not even HOF worthy, let alone one of the best. Floyd didn't exactly miss out on a career defining win there against a HOF'er or ATG.

Cotto, better late than never. It didn't happen in Cotto's absolute prime, but it was a 35 year Floyd vs a 31 year old Cotto. So take that how you want.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao, well I can't believe that people are still using the word "duck" for this situation. Obviously, the promotional issues are the reason the fight never happened.

The rest, Mosley, De La Hoya, Tszyu, all these guys Floyd called out but 1. Mosley rejected him twice, at 135 and 147, DLH rejected Floyd because he was with Arum and DLH didn't do business with him. Tszyu got stomped by Hatton right after Floyd publicly called him out on HBO.

Jesus Christ how long you been watching boxing? Roy Jones use to be crusified for not fighting the best(rather true or not) SRR was know as a diva in his day..and Leonard had more retirements then Jordan..Ali was the man and did fight everyone as far as i know and thats why people call him the greatest
