Nah. He's dead.

The reason Doakes' name came up is because of the slide that Dex left at the church.

LaGuerta was a bit curious about Dex once because of what Doakes told her but eventually nothing happened.

Those slides showed up in Doakes' possession because Dex set him up.


Fast forward to today...

Doakes is dead but an "identical" slide shows up.

LaGuerta will start to think that maybe Doakes wasn't lying about Dex after all.

This season should be very interesting.

Doakes was a hilariously written character and Erik King did a fantastic job making such a one dimensional caricature of ex-military types seem real.

He was so awesomely portrayed by King that if they actually did somehow bring him back, I wouldn't even call bull**** - I'd be too busy LOL'ing at his return.
